Weddings…my passion, my heart belongs to weddings. Truth is that I’ve never had a job where I’ve worked as hard as I do but felt so rewarded and happy at the end of the day. Of course, it’s a very memorable day for the bride, groom and their families but we also make memories. Generally, Heath and I spend the car ride home talking about the highlights and moments that we were blessed to be a part of. What we do is more than just snapping a few photos, we get an intimate look into the lives of two families joining together for life. Whoa, that’s deep. We witnessed surprises (such as Pistol Pete coming by), happy tears and more heart-felt moments than I could even list. I want to say a sincere thank you to all of my couples this year for allowing me to be a fly on the wall during these moments. I teared up behind my camera more than you know. 😉 Thank you for making 2013 an amazing year and you will always have a special place in my heart.

Candy + Chris

We kicked off our year with Candy and Chris at Dresser Mansion. While the weather didn’t cooperate exactly how Candy had wished (moving the wedding indoors), I was impressed with how calm and willing she was to change up the plans. The ceremony turned out absolutely gorgeous and the reception was a blast…they sure know how to party! There is no other couple I would have rather set the tone of the year with!

Julie + Stephen

We must have had an unusually rainy Spring because Julie and Stephen’s wedding was nearly rained out as well. They still had it on the deck at Five Oaks Lodge but had originally planned to have it on the grounds. It rained hard all morning and right at the last minute the sun came out for the ceremony. It was perfect! We even had great weather afterwords for portraits with the couple. One thing that stands out in my mind from this wedding is that Julie’s mom made her dress from scratch! Talk about custom! Love these two.

Kristi + CJ

Let’s talk about that Wisteria. OMG…I have shot many weddings at Gilcrease Museum by Kristi and CJ just happened to have their April wedding when the Wisteria arch was in full bloom. Amazing. Kristi’s color was even purple! It couldn’t have been planned any better.  We very much enjoyed spending the day with these two. Everyone made us feel like part of the family! It was also cool seeing them at one of my September weddings…one of the perks that having a business that books off of referrals often!

Ashley  + Robert

Ashley and Robert had the sweetest church ceremony and country club reception in Cushing, Okla. We won’t be booking many, if any, weddings out of Tulsa this year with a baby on the way and I’ll miss being able to experience other cities. I remember their engagement session last November was very cold and oddly enough, their May wedding was too! These two were troopers on both occasions though and did amazing!

Mollie + Josh

Mollie and Josh! These two are just adorable. This was my biggest wedding of the year at a historic church downtown and the reception at Glenpool Conference Center. Some girls just know how to pick the right dress…and Mollie sure did. Doesn’t she look amazing?! I just love this sweet couple and couldn’t be happier for them!

Veronica + Justin

Oooo la la! I just loved Veronica’s choice of Tiffany blue and lace for her Gilcrease Museum wedding. The reception decorations were probably some of my favorite of the year. It was such a beautiful, classy day! The weather was perfect and I had plenty of time to get some awesome portraits. I’m so happy to have been a part of it all! Love you two!

Zoe + Andrew

June was my month of out-of-state weddings. We kicked it off with Zoe and Andrew in Dodge City, Kansas. We had a little rain that day, but that was the least of our worries. In the middle of the ceremony, the tornado sirens started going off and they almost had to shuffle everyone to the basement. That’s Kansas for you! It’s a good thing no one panicked though because it ended up missing town and the ceremony went on as planned. Zoe and Andrew met working at historic Boot Hill. Zoe was a CanCan Girl and Andrew was a Gun Fighter. How cool is that?! We debated going to the Boot Hill store front for photos and I’m so glad they opted for it. It made for some super fun photos! They even had someone bring in their fur baby for a few. Love!

Vicky + Aaron

For Vicky and Aaron’s wedding, we traveled to Azle, Texas, for a stunning wedding at a venue called The Orchard. It was one of the most beautiful weddings of the year. Vicky had  team of friends helping with the decorating all day long and it looked amazing. We had just enough time to walk down the road to a field for some sunset photos after the ceremony. So beautiful!

Amanda + Nate

For Amanda and Nate’s wedding, we traveled to Hays, Kansas. It was such a beautiful, heart-felt day! When we met for the engagement session last year, I just knew that this day would be a lot of fun. They are such a sweet couple. I loved getting to see Hays in a way we haven’t before too!

Kendra + Josh

My lone July wedding was the amazing Kendra and Josh! How lovely are they?! I chose this sweet couple as my feature couple for my advertising next year! A lot goes into what couple I choose, including the colors they choose (if it matches my marketing, etc.), the lighting in the photo (I generally go for the sunset glow) and the posing. I had three couples that I made ads for and we ended up going with these two. Thank you so much for agreeing to be the face of Picturesque next year! 🙂 Kendra is the most bubbly person I have every met and she is so much fun to be around. I think Josh is the perfect partner for her! I had a blast at this wedding!

Kristen + Beau

We stared August with this beautiful couple! They were married in a Broken Arrow church and had the reception at Camp Loughridge. We took these portraits between the ceremony and reception. One thing that stands out in my mind were the stained tree rounds that they used as decorations. It’s amazing how something so simple can look so great. Props to Kristen and her mom for all the hard work they spent on them. I just love this couple. Thank you for letting us be a part of your day!

Nicole + Alan

Sometimes you meet someone and you realize that you are long lost best friends. Haha. This is how I felt at Nicole and Allan’s in-person consult! They live in Florida so we had already spoken on the phone a couple times and met up when they were in OKC doing planning. Love them! The wedding was at one of the most amazing churches I have ever seen in OKC and the reception at the always stunning Skirvin Hotel. Since they met at Disney, they made sure the DJ played some Disney songs like ‘Kiss the Girl’ from The Little Mermaid. I decided that every DJ should play this song at the reception…it was so perfect. Congrats, you two!

Kristin + Corbin

Kristin and Corbin had the most beautiful outdoor wedding at Vive le Ranch (aka The Barn). It was set by the pond at sunset and it was amazing. The reception was at the barn on the same property. A couple highlights were the surprise visit from Pistol Pete (I’m no even an OSU fan, but it was exciting!) and the homemade ice cream in mason jar. There were so many details at the reception that Kristin and her mom and sister spent so much time on. It turned out perfect, ladies!

Janee’ + Matt

By the time I shot their engagement, bridal/trash the dress, boudoir for Janee’, and the wedding, I got to know Janee’ and Matt pretty well…and they are so stinkin’ sweet! They were married at Washington Irving Park outside of Bixby and I remember having the best weather of any wedding this year. It was the end of September so the summer heat was fading but the Fall coolness hadn’t quite arrived. It couldn’t have been better for on outdoor wedding and reception. The day was full of heart-felt moments and we were so happy to be a part of it.

Haley + Kyle

Three photos…for when you just can’t choose one (or two). The funny thing about Haley and Kyle is that months after booking them for the wedding, Kyle ended up accepting a position as an engineer working with Heath at his day job. How random is that?! I think it’s so much fun to get to know them outside of the wedding too! Haley and Kyle were also blessed with perfect weather for their outdoor wedding at The Tulsa Garden Center. We got some great portraits (in case you were wondering, the middle photo below is my favorite)! It was such a fun day. Congrats, you two!

Stephanie + Shad

We traveled to Topeka, Kansas, for Stephanie and Shad’s wedding. I graduated from high school with brother and his brother’s wife just happens to be one of my best friends and a bridesmaid at my wedding. I shot their wedding and was so excited when Stephanie called me after they got engaged. This was definitely one of the liveliest wedding parties all year…they kept me on my toes and were so much fun! Stephanie’s father is a fire fighter so we went to the station to get some portraits by the truck. Love this one with their refection!

Elizabeth + Jonathan

Elizabeth and Jonathan were married at Camp Loughridge this Fall. I love shooting out there…it has some of the best backdrops in town! I love how you can see the love these two have for each other just by how they look at each other. They day was full of sweet moments and we felt so lucky to be a part of it!

Mandy + Eric

I wrapped up my year in style with Mandy and Eric! They were married in a historic Catholic Church downtown Tulsa and had the reception at First Place Tower. Mandy used to be an event coordinator and it showed…they day went off without a hitch. I love that she scheduled in so much time for portraits too. We hit three different location spots between the ceremony and reception. That’s practically unheard of on wedding day! We got some of my favorite shots at this old loading dock downtown. Love these two!
