My nieces and nephews are my pride and joy…all 7 of them! Every year, Braiden and Aubry (my second brother’s kids) come and stay with Uncle Heath and Aunt Amanda (with Granny’s assistance, of course) for about a week during the summer. It’s my favorite week of the year. We always have soooooooo much fun together. Braiden is now 5 and is such a big boy. He was 2 the first year he stayed with us and I can’t believe how fast they grow! Aubry is 2 this year and is a bundle of cuteness. She melts my heart when she callls me “my Manda”. *sigh*

Preparation for the shoot started weeks ago as Heath and I brainstormed theme ideas. We started out thinking we would do a Tea Party theme but once we found out about the Vintage Market Days the weekend before they would be joining us…we completely changed tracks. We went vintage, of course, with The Little Rascals in mind. We psyched the kids up for days telling them we were going to have a picnic with cupcakes, soda and lots of decorations. We must have done a good job because they were excited even at 6 am when we woke them up to get ready. Everyone was on strict orders to start shooting by 7 am so that we had the awesome morning light. Heath took the truck and decorations out early and started setting up while Mom and I got the kids ready. I loved how it turned out! Loved it! I want to do a shoot with most of these props for an engagment as well (with champagne, cheese and crackers) so let me know which Picturesque Bride wants to! 🙂

Cupcakes | Kupcakz

Blanket | Grandma Sprading

Vintage Market Days treasures

Glass Milk Carton | Sue Sands

Crate | Audra Glasgow

Table Clothe | Miller Girls

Lantern | Rusty Barrel

Mason Jar with Spools of Thread | Lilac Row

Polyanna in Hollywood book | Juliet & Company

I tied the bow tie myself! I’m so proud! The YouTube video that I watched said that if it’s not perfect then it’s ok…that just means it has character. Braiden’s bow tie has lots of character 🙂

For the fabric hanging from the trees, Mom and I ventured to Hobby Lobby with the kiddos and picked out several colors of satin, then proceeded to rip them into 2-inch strips. I love how it turned out!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I adore books and reading. Heath says that if I have only read a book twice, then I probably didn’t like it much. I knew that I needed an old book to go with The Jungle Book that I already had. I’m so happy that I found Pollyanna in Hollywood at the Vintage Market Days because it was so perfect for our little diva.

Haha, Aubry’s book is upside down. Clearly it she is interested in it though 🙂

Some sibling love <3
