After four straight years of photographing editorials for The Brides of Oklahoma Magazine, I’ve come to realize that the hardest part is waiting so share the images. I photographed this amazing set by the team at Mayo Event + Design in September and from the moment I saw it, I was in love! Don’t get me wrong, I like a little pop of color but there is something so elegant (and classic Mayo) about an all white wedding. The morning of the shoot, I arrived plenty early (I hate being late!) with pretty much every piece of equipment I own (every shoot that I’ve done for the magazine has been so different that I like to be prepared) so we just started early. There were four different sets so I started with the details on the cake table then worked my way around the room to the kiddie table, bar, and lounge. We were lucky to have a sunny day so with the gorgeous windows in the Crystal Ballroom, I was able to shoot almost entirely with natural light. When posing, I made sure to make use of shadows to show the details of the design to give all the white dimension. This has to be one of my favorite styled shoots yet and working with the talented ladies at the Mayo was a dream! Head over to the Brides of Oklahoma website to snag yourself a copy to see the amazing spread. Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot as well!
