January and February are notoriously slow for weddings so it’s the perfect time to set up concept shoots. I wanted to do an example urban shoot to be able to show my brides. I purposely avoided commonly known photo areas in downtown Tulsa to get a couple different looks. I love the dissonance of a beautiful wedding dress in a grungy location, so that’s what we did! I had worked with Kat on another shoot and I remembered that she is a newlywed so I asked her to model her dress for me. She is so talented! Kat had a full day starting out at makeup at 1:00 then heading into hair at 2:30. By the time the prepping was finished, the light was absolutely perfect! Seriously, the light was so dreamy…it was exactly what I wish for on every session. Here are a few of my favorite shots!

Model | Kat Kocel

Hair | AMBER

Makeup | Makeup by Mikala

I just loved how the hair and makeup turned out!

Since it was a little chilly, we started out in the sun to warm up before moving into the shaded area that I had picked out.

I thought this wall was perfect for Kat’s dress. It was very Tuscan to me. We had so much fun twirling her beautiful dress!

The hair was perfect!

I just love this spot. It was perfect for a bride!

What a beauty!
